Meet Reverend Dr. Laird Bridgman

Rev., Dr Bridgman has an extensive background in addiction and recovery issues and has special expertise in working with recovery from compulsive behaviors. His clinical specialties include depression and anxiety problems, personal growth work, relationship issues, executive consultations and coaching, addictions and assisting those in significant relationship with addicts.

Dr Bridgman earned his doctorate in psychology at Rosemead Graduate School of Psychology at Biola University. Additionally, he completed a year-long extramural fellowship at The Beck Institute. He was honored to be trained in cognitive and behavioral therapy with Dr Aaron Beck and Dr Judy Beck. He is a Fellow and Diplomate with the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies.

Dr Bridgman is also an ordained minister. In 1992 he founded Renewed Hope/Renewal from Sexual Addiction Ministries (RSA), the world’s first Christ-centered self-help program for individuals and families impacted by sexual addiction. He was the consulting psychologist for Celebrate Recovery at Saddleback Church for over twenty years and co-developed the CR program materials.

Dr Bridgman has taught graduate psychology courses as an adjunct professor for over 25 years and has served as a full professor and core faculty at The Chicago School, Anaheim CA since 2019.

He served for 9 years as Director of Provider Services, Director of Employee Assistance Programming, and as a Senior Care Manager for Integrated Behavioral Health, a specialty managed care company serving Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 employers and unions such as Apple, Mack Trucks, Johnson & Johnson, Binney. & Smith, UAW, and IBEW. Dr Bridgman is a published author, public speaker, and publisher. He lives in Orange County, CA.

Meet Dr. Shari Bridgman

Dr. Shari Bridman is a licensed marriage and family therapist with many years of experience in the mental health field. After completing her undergraduate degree at Wheaton College in Illinois, Dr. Bridgman earned both Masters and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Biola University in La Mirada, California.

She works with various clinical issues including: grief and loss, depression, anxiety, parenting, and relationship issues. She speaks on a variety of women’s issues and has been a featured guest on local radio and television programs. In 1993 Dr. Bridgman founded the Empty Arms support group ministry at Saddleback Valley Community Church in Lake Forest, California.

As a result of her personal and professional experiences, Dr. Bridgman has a special burden for grieving parents who have lost their babies through miscarriage. She is the author of, In Heavenly Arms: Grieving the Loss and Healing the Wounds of Miscarriage, which has helped thousands of women and their significant others to deal with the loss of their child. Dr. Bridgman lives with her husband and three children in Orange County, CA.
